J. David Forbes

J. David Forbes, M.D., ABIHM, ABoIM, is a Medical Physician in Internal Medicine, Counselor, Educator, and Keynote Speaker. He is Past-President of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM.org), the Founder of Nashville Integrative Medicine, a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM, now ceased), and Board-certified as well in Integrative Medicine from the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABoIM).

Dr. Forbes has over 25 years of experience in the fields of trauma/addiction counseling, emotional process work, and meditation practice and training. Dr. Forbes’s passion is re-establishing the importance of body-centered processes in healing. He has led emotional process healing retreats for over 20 years and is a frequent keynote speaker on emotional trauma and addiction/recovery work.

Shelly Shulman

Shelly Shulman is founder & CEO of the Human Connections Institute of Long Island. He has facilitated more than 80 emotional release retreats across the country since starting them in 2003. 

In 2003 Shulman created the Long Island (LI) Men’s Retreat introducing men to emotionally releasing trauma and healing the body and mind.  The Human Connections Institute recently conducted its 76th LI Men’s Retreat.  This is in addition to Shulman’s work at similar retreats across the United States, including our Pennsylvania Men’s Healing Retreat.

Shulman adds, “Over 600 men, many repeat participants, from all walks of life have attended. The healing, camaraderie, friendships, and fun are standard as we form a safe, loving, supportive environment. This has become my life’s work.”
